WHY IS ECONOMICS IMPORTANT?

Economics, at its core, is the study of how to evaluate alternatives and make better choices. It develops critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to make good decisions. It develops analytical skills to examine data to support good decisions.

The study of economics helps people understand the world around them. It enables people to understand people, businesses, markets and governments, and therefore better respond to the threats and opportunities that emerge when things change.

ABOUT YOUR ECON GURU

Nafeez Ahamed is an ACCA finalist and has completed BSc in Economics and Management at the University of London with first class honors.
He has over 8 years of lecturing experience and over 5 years of corporate experience in the fields of financial analysis.
He has been working as a financial analyst in a UK based firm since 2017.
He also was a lecturer for management accounting and taxation at Achievers Lanka Business School.
